League City Ranks Among Most Livable Cities in the USA

Thinking of moving to the suburbs, yet not quite ready to live in a sleepy, small town? Experience the best of urban activity with small-town charm in League City, which was recently named one of 2020’s most livable mid-sized cities in the nation.

Placing 16th out of 277 for mid-sized cities in the nation, the Bay Area was the top-ranked Houston suburb on the financial technology company Smart Asset’s annual list. Rankings were determined by four-year home value change; median monthly housing costs; poverty rate; median household income; unemployment rate; percentage of residents without health insurance; average commute time; and measurements of income inequality.

According to the report, the poverty rate for League City is only 1.6 percent, with median household income at $115,650 and the average cost of housing at $1,580 a month.

This is only the latest of many accolades League City has received this year. Niche named it the second best place to live in Galveston County, ranking League City highly on the quality of its public schools, housing choices and recreational activities.

Ideally situated between Galveston Island and Houston, League City offers something for everyone. The family-friendly city is near attractions such as the beaches of Galveston, Kemah Boardwalk, Moody Gardens, Space Center Houston and more.
